Spiritual Lessons from Baseball 2

Yesterday Jake's travel team went out to Bloomfield for a double header. It was a long hot day, but the boys did incredibly well. The played up a level - we're a team of 7's & 8's with two 9 yr. olds, and we played teams with 8's and mostly 9's. In addition, it was … Continue reading Spiritual Lessons from Baseball 2

Double!!!

For grandparents who don't get to come to games, here's a look at Jake's double down the right field line. Forgive the cameraman. https://www.youtube.com/embed/vLDz_7aNe10

>Song of the Week

>On opening day for the Tribe, I thought this was perfect. It's from one of the great baseball movies of all time "Major League" (mainly because it's about the Indians winning the pennant). 'Wild Thing' pretty much sums up our pitching last year. I'm not at all worried about the Indians offense, but if this … Continue reading >Song of the Week

>Tribe Baseball

>This may not happen often this season, so I'll rub it in! We won! The Reds only got five hits off one of the worst pitching teams in baseball. And the Indians bats were definitely working. Can't wait to see if that holds against real pitching in real games. I'm not optimistic, but a little … Continue reading >Tribe Baseball

About Me

I have been married to the same great woman for almost 23 years. I am the father to three great boys who surprise me every day. I serve as the pastor of adult ministries at Evangelical Community Church in Bloomington, Indiana (though the views expressed on this blog are not necessarily thoseof the church or its leadership as a whole). I consider myself evangelical in the historic sense of the word. I prefer the term Confessional, though the irony is I don't minister at a confessional church. I'm reformed, with sympathies for high church and sacramental Christianity. My theological heroes include Edwards, Nevin, Calvin and Machen. You can read more about me in my bio
